Seven days. Seven small experiments.
This isn't about becoming the person with the lowest screen-time number. It's about noticing when you're choosing to use your phone — and when you're not.
Start with a simple baseline instead of guessing about your phone use.
Decide which notifications genuinely deserve your attention.
Make the apps you open automatically slightly less automatic.
Choose one small part of your day where the phone doesn't come along.
Notice the moments when your hand reaches for the phone before you've decided why.
Make room for something you actually want more of — even if that's doing nothing.
Phone on Purpose
This isn't a war against your phone.
Your smartphone is useful. It keeps you connected, gives you directions, plays your music, takes your pictures, answers questions and does a thousand other genuinely helpful things.
The problem starts when picking it up stops being a decision.
The goal isn't to use your phone as little as possible.
It's to use it more deliberately.
Ready to try it?
Give me seven days. I'll give you one small experiment each day. Keep what works. Drop what doesn't.
Hi, I'm Robert.
Phone on Purpose grew out of my own experience of realizing that something genuinely useful had quietly started taking more of my attention than I wanted to give it.
I'm not interested in telling people to abandon technology or turn self-control into another productivity contest. I'm interested in figuring out what actually helps us use these things on our own terms.
